How Words and Characters Are Counted
A word is defined as any sequence of letters, digits, or hyphenated characters separated by whitespace or punctuation. Characters without spaces calculates the exact glyph footprint, helpful for platforms with strict length limits.
Reading & Speaking Time Estimates
Reading time is calculated using the international standard speed of 200 words per minute (wpm) for silent reading, while speech duration assumes a natural presentation tempo of 130 words per minute.
